The Department of Pathology at the University Hospital of Zurich has a long and rich tradition. Since the opening of the University of Zurich lectures have been held in the field of pathology of Anatomy. Post mortal diagnostics used to be the main topic. Now, however, a wide field is covered and the focus is on diagnostics of tumours, preventive medical checkups and disease research.
